Ghaziabad: Three school students were injured after a portion of the wall of an under-construction house collapsed on them in Makanpur on Friday afternoon while they were returning home from school. All three were treated at a nearby private hospital and discharged after first aid. Their condition is stated to be stable.Police identified the injured students as Krishanpal (14), his younger brother Hirdesh (12) and Monu Kumar (13), all residents of Makanpur. Krishanpal and Hirdesh study in Class 6, while Monu is a Class 7 student at a govt school in Indirapuram.According to police, the incident occurred around noon. Preliminary investigation revealed that a resident, identified as Nirdesh, was constructing a house in the area when a portion of the third-floor wall suddenly gave way.“The wall of the under-construction building collapsed, causing bricks to fall onto three children who were passing by. The children sustained injuries to their heads and legs,” said Suryabali Maurya, ACP, Indirapuram.Hearing the children’s cries, local residents rushed to the spot and helped rescue them. Nirdesh, along with locals, took the injured students to a nearby private hospital, where they received medical treatment. Police said the builder also bore the entire cost of their treatment.Police added that no formal complaint has been filed in connection with the incident so far.
