Bengaluru: A woman allegedly poisoned her two sons to death before attempting to take her own life in north Bengaluru following a family dispute.Yeshwantpur police said Pavithra, 26, a homemaker from Pavagada in Tumakuru district, administered rat poison to Nivedh C, 4, and Nirmal C, 2 at HMT Layout in Mathikere late on Saturday night.Based on preliminary investigation, police said Pavithra and her husband, Prashanth, a sales executive at an electronics store, had argued over a trivial issue earlier in the evening. Disturbed by the conflict, Prashanth left home.After poisoning the children, Pavithra is said to have consumed poison herself and gone to sleep in a separate room. Prashanth, who returned home at midnight, slept in the hall, unaware of the incident.Pavithra reportedly woke up in the wee hours and informed Prashanth about feeding the poison to the children and herself. Prashanth rushed all three to a nearby hospital, where the doctors declared the children brought dead.Pavithra is currently undergoing treatment. Yeshwantpur police have registered a case and are investigating.
