Gurgaon: A 42-year-old woman was found hanging at her home in Faridabad’s Sector 7. Her family has accused her husband, Sandeep, and his alleged girlfriend of murdering her after she confronted them about their relationship.Savita Tevatia was married to Sandeep for 18 years, and the couple has two children. They ran a coaching centre for school-going students from their home.According to police, a worker alerted Savita’s family that she had not left her room for a long time and was not opening the door either. Following this, neighbours broke the door open and found her hanging. She was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.In his complaint, Savita’s brother, Ram Dugar, said that she recently found out that Sandeep had been in an illicit relationship with a minor student at their coaching centre for many years. He allegedly continued the relationship even after she grew up and began working at a private company.When Savita confronted him, it led to frequent fights between the couple, causing her severe mental distress. He further alleged that his girlfriend threatened Savita and insisted on staying with Sandeep, worsening the situation.Savita’s in-laws, however, denied all allegations and called them baseless. Her father-in-law, Captain Surender Kumar, said that on the day of the incident, he, his wife and Sandeep went to Jewar in UP to attend a relative’s funeral, leaving Savita alone at home as construction work was ongoing.He said they spoke to Savita twice on the phone that day before receiving a call from the worker about the incident. A neighbour was then asked to check on her and found Savita hanging. The family rushed back and took her to the hospital, where she was declared dead.Cops said an FIR under Section 103 (murder) of the BNS was registered against Sandeep, his alleged girlfriend and her mother and brother. No arrests have been made yet.Authorities said all angles, including abetment to suicide and murder, are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
