Mapusa: Residents of Ugvem village have been facing irregular water supply due to repeated ruptures in a key pipeline, leading to the wastage of thousands of litres of water. The latest burst occurred on Tuesday around 6.30am, despite the line having been repaired recently. A few days earlier, a section of the pipeline had fractured near Mauli temple.A local said they have been without water for four to five days due to frequent disruptions caused by repeated breakages. With the monsoon approaching, villagers fear the situation may worsen, noting that repairs during heavy rain would be difficult. Panch members Samiksha Mahale and Uday Mahale have urged MLA Praveen Arlekar and the Tambose-Ugvem-Mopa gram panchayat to intervene immediately.
