Varanasi: Two motorcycle riders were killed on the spot, while two scooter riders sustained critical injuries in a head-on collision on the Rae Bareli-Jaunpur National Highway near the Itahara bypass in Jaunpur’s Mungra Badshahpur police station area on Wednesday night.According to police, the deceased were identified as Kishan Bind (22) and Ramesh Bind (25), both residents of Rohkhurd Madra village under Fatanpur police station in Pratapgarh. They were returning to their village from Mungra Badshahpur on a motorcycle when the accident occurred.Police said the motorcycle collided head-on with a scooter near the Itahara bypass. The impact was so severe that both motorcycle riders were thrown onto the road and sustained serious head injuries. Locals rushed them to the Community Health Centre in Sathariya, where doctors declared them dead.The scooter riders, Sudhanshu Pandey (22) and Akash Tiwari (24), both residents of Itahara village in Mungra Badshahpur, also sustained serious injuries.SHO Ashwini Dubey said the injured are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mungra Badshahpur.
