Colva: Colva police have registered an offence under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act against an minor Instagram user for allegedly downloading, viewing and transmitting pornographic material involving children through an electronic platform.PSI Anil Krishna said the minor accused, allegedly downloaded, viewed and transmitted electronic material depicting children engaged in sexual acts in March. The complaint states that the content was of such a nature that it could offend an adult and falls within the ambit of child sexual abuse material.Based on the complaint, Colva police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Pocso Act as well as Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the operation of the Instagram account and to gather further evidence in the case.Further investigation is in progress.
