Gurgaon: A 20-year-old crane operator died on Sunday, days after a truck rammed into his vehicle on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-8) near Narsinghpur.The accident took place on the evening of April 19 within the Sadar police station limits.The deceased, Avdhesh Kumar, a native of UP’s Etah, was driving a crane from Hero Honda Chowk towards Kherki Daula when a speeding truck collided with the vehicle from behind. The impact caused the crane to overturn, trapping him underneath.Passers-by pulled him out and rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he remained in critical condition. “Despite treatment for seven days, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning,” an officer said.Avdhesh was living with his cousin, Raghav Jadoun, at Saraswati Enclave in Sector 10. Both worked as crane operators in the city.Following the incident, Raghav filed a complaint with the police. Based on his statement, an FIR was registered against an unidentified truck driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of BNS at Sadar police station.Police said CCTV footage from the area has been scanned, and the truck involved has been identified. “A notice will be issued to the vehicle owner, directing him to produce the driver for questioning. Further action in the case will follow after the driver is apprehended,” the officer said.
