Gurgaon: After a dry spell, the city is likely to see light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds on Wednesday. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph at isolated places in the city on Oct 7, along with light to moderate rainfall at isolated places.The weather is expected to remain dry in the city on Monday and Tuesday. On Oct 6, the weather warning is confined to the northern districts of the state, including Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Sonipat and Panipat.The possibility of rain in the city continues on Oct 8, when IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated places, along with several other districts. However, the 30-40 kmph thunderstorm and gusty-wind warning issued for that day does not include the city.The change in weather is associated with a fresh western disturbance, seen as a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies. IMD said light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places in Haryana on Oct 6, 7 and 8, at a few places on Oct 9 and again at isolated places on Oct 10 and 11.The city recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, while the minimum temperature stood at 22.5°C, 0.1°C higher than the previous day. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in the city stood at 36.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 22.4 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the NorthCap University weather station recorded 24.2°C, up 1.2°C over the previous 24 hours. No rainfall was recorded at the Gurgaon stations in the 24 hours ending 8.30 am Monday. Across Haryana, the average minimum temperature rose 0.1°C and remained 2.2°C above normal. Bhiwani recorded the lowest minimum at 20.5°C, while Hisar recorded the state’s highest maximum at 38.8°C.
