Panaji: The tourism department has moved to certify yoga and other wellness centres offering holistic healing under a three-tier ‘leaf’ accreditation system. Wellness centres will be graded and certified based on a number of criteria.The department has asked eligible wellness centres operating in Goa to proactively come forward for accreditation.“The accreditation aims to recognise and promote quality wellness establishments that adhere to presorted standards of infrastructure, hygiene, safety, professional services, sustainability, and guest experience,” said tourism director Kedar Naik in a public notice.Accredited wellness centres will be recognised by Goa Tourism as quality-assured establishments, enhancing their credibility and visibility among domestic and international visitorsWellness centres offering ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy and wellness centers, and holistic healing centers can aim for one leaf, two leaf, or three leaf accreditation. Applications will be assessed based on the criteria prescribed by the tourism department.Naik has encouraged all eligible wellness centres to participate in this initiative, which aims to promote excellence in wellness tourism, which is currently unorganised and unregulated.
