TOLIC Varanasi honoured for Hindi implementation
Varanasi Receives National Recognition in the Field of Official Language

Varanasi: The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Varanasi, led by Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) GM Ashutosh Pant, has been honoured in the ‘Commendable’ category under the TOLIC Incentive Award for its notable performance in promoting and effectively implementing Official Language Hindi.The award, instituted by the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs, recognises TOLIC Varanasi’s performance in implementing the Official Language Policy of the Union in its jurisdiction during 2025-26.The award was presented on Tuesday at the All India Official Language Conference held at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. On behalf of TOLIC Varanasi, Ram Janam Chaubey, Chief Official Language Officer, BLW and Chief Mechanical Engineer (Production & Marketing), received the citation.The citation specifically appreciated the efforts of TOLIC Varanasi chairman Ashutosh Pant, noting that the committee had made notable progress in the promotion and implementation of Official Language Hindi under his leadership.The recognition is being seen as an important national-level acknowledgement of the coordinated and sustained efforts undertaken by TOLIC Varanasi to promote the use of Hindi and ensure effective implementation of the Official Language Policy among various Central government offices in the city.The award also highlights the committee’s continued efforts to encourage greater use of Hindi in official work and strengthen the implementation of the Union’s Official Language Policy across Central government establishments in Varanasi.
