Ghaziabad: Four people were arrested for allegedly beating up three people and molesting two of them — both wrestlers, including a minor — during a road-rage incident in Morta village under the jurisdiction of Nandgram police station on Monday. The victims were travelling to take part in a dangal. Police said the accused were identified as Deepak Tyagi, a resident of Morta, his brother Arun and two cousins, Nitish and Kapil.Nandgram SHO Santosh Kumar Tripathi said that on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim — the father of the wrestler — an FIR was registered against the four accused under the sections of (voluntarily causing hurt), 351 (3) (punishment for criminal intimidation), 74 (molestation) of BNS and under relevant sections of POCSO. “We have arrested the accused,” he said. The complainant said that he was travelling with his 12-year-old daughter and sister to Dagarpur village for a dangal. His daughter, who started wrestling some years ago, was supposed to participate in the dangal. The minor had won a silver medal in freestyle wrestling on foreign soil in Bahrain a few years back. She won a gold medal in the state-level competition held in Gorakhpur this year. She had proved her talent at many national and state-level events earlier.“At 11.30am, we reached Morta village in our car. The road was very narrow and a motorcycle was parked on it. I honked, but no one came out. Then I called out from the window and asked whose bike it was, following which a man came up and started behaving rudely. I told him to remove the bike so that we would have space to pass, but he started hurling abuses. Somehow I managed to take my car out of there and moved ahead, but after going only about 100 metres, the same man, along with several others, stopped our vehicle and made me get out of the car and beat me up with the butt of a gun. When my daughter and sister — also a wrestler — came to save me, they were also beaten up and molested,” he said.A video of the attack has surfaced on social media. When the woman tried to capture the act of the accused on a mobile phone camera, the accused were seen openly coming in front of it. In the video, abuse and threats directed at the woman player are also clearly audible and visible.
