Panaji: The command area development (CAD) board of the Goa Tillari irrigation project is likely to decide on Wednesday on proposals to denotify command area land, including 3.1ha sought for omission from the command area and additional proposals covering 27,265 sqm in Pernem, Bicholim and Bardez. The meeting, which was postponed last week due to “administrative reasons”, will also consider the omission of 31,533 sqm from the command area across Calangute, Parra, Assagao, Anjuna, Latambarcem, Revora, Sarvan, Torsem, Mayem, Dhargal and Bicholim. The board is also expected to consider the inclusion of 292ha in the command area. The additional denotification proposals cover 2,703 sqm in Pernem, 8,991 sqm in Bicholim and 15,571 sqm in Bardez. The meeting comes amid renewed attention on a proposal linked to casino firm Delta Corporation. TOI had earlier reported that more than a year after the state cabinet decided to denotify 3.3 lakh sqm of Tillari command area land at Dhargalim for the proposed project, water resources minister Subhash Shirodkar said govt would not proceed with the denotification.
