Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association on Tuesday met chief minister A Revanth Reddy and thanked the state govt for enacting the Advocates Protection Act.The association, led by its president, S Surender Reddy, also submitted representations to the chief minister, emphasising the need to prioritise candidates of Telangana origin for elevation as high court judges and for appointments as special govt pleaders, govt pleaders, assistant govt pleaders and standing counsel representing the state govt in high court.The association also urged the CM to allocate an additional ₹200 crore to extend health insurance coverage to all eligible advocates, including those enrolled after 2019, while increasing the existing coverage limit from ₹2 lakh to ₹5 lakh.To support emerging legal talent, it sought a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 for junior advocates, along with land allotments for an HC Advocates’ Conference Hall and a dedicated housing society.The CM responded positively to the representations, the association said in a release.
