Tamil star Suriya’s latest release ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ is enjoying a positive run at the box office. The makers recently announced that the film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide within just two days of its theatrical release. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film also features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead.

Sharing the news, the production house took to his X handle to a share a poster of the film and wrote, “#VishwanathAndSons hits it out of the park and smashes a 100cr+ in just 2 days. #BlockbusterVAS running successfully in cinemas near you.”The film marks Suriya’s second Rs 100 crore grosser of 2026, following ‘Karuppu’, which went on to collect more than Rs 300 crore worldwide. ‘Vishwanath And Sons’ has also reportedly become the fastest Suriya-starrer to reach the Rs 100 crore milestone, achieving the feat in two days compared with ‘Karuppu’s three days.Speaking about the film, The film is about the story of Suriya as Sanjay Vishwanath, a highly accomplished sharpshooter who has won multiple international awards. He enjoys a simple, quiet and disciplined life, but a twist comes after a much younger woman, Mamitha Baiju openly expresses her love for him.

The film also features Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nassar, Sudha, Kalyani Natarajan, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Rajiv Menon, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi and Sarvadaman Banerjee. GV Prakash Kumar composed the music, while Nimish Ravi handled the cinematography and Navin Nooli edited the film.

Interestingly, latest reports regarding the film’s OTT release further suggests that the makers have locked its digital release platform post its theatrical run. A report by Deccan Chronicle suggests that OTT giant Netflix has landed a deal with the makers.
