Panaji: RG MLA Viresh Borkar, along with members of the Siolim block, submitted objections to the Oxel panchayat, opposing the final notification of zone changes under Section 39A of the Goa Town and Country Planning Act, 1974.Raising concerns about land-use reclassification and its potential impact on residents and the wider community, Borkar said they have called for the objections to be examined seriously. He insisted that any land-use decision must be taken in a transparent and accountable manner, with public interest as the priority.Borkar said zoning and planning decisions must undergo careful scrutiny, include meaningful consideration of public objections, and follow due process.“We will continue to demand accountability on matters affecting land, livelihoods, and the state’s future,” Borkar said.
