Sri Lankan caught at Bengaluru airport with fake Canadian passport

Bengaluru: A Sri Lankan man was detained at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) after trying to board a flight to London using a fake Canadian passport and forged immigration documents. The accused, identified as Sinnappu Subakaran, arrived at KIA on June 23 and completed departure formalities for a Singapore Airlines flight. However, officials later found that instead of boarding the Singapore-bound flight, Subakaran concealed his original ticket and attempted to board Air India flight AI-133 to London through the departure immigration wing in Terminal 2 around 2pm.Probe revealed the accused had hidden his Sri Lankan passport and was carrying a fake Canadian one in the name of Chiwarajah Dachshan. Officials found the Canadian passport was forged and contained fake immigration stamps purportedly affixed to facilitate international travel.
