Hyderabad: Even as election officials maintain that 100% of enumeration forms have been distributed to eligible voters across Telangana, residents of several gated communities in Hyderabad say many households are yet to receive them, raising questions over the claimed 100% coverage.While some upscale residential complexes said a majority of residents were still awaiting the forms, others with populations of nearly 10,000 estimated that 20% to 25% of households had not received them. Communities reporting gaps include PBEL City, My Home Avatar and Kolla Luxuria in Cyberabad.“Until this week, not even a single booth level officer (BLO) visited our community. On Monday, one officer came and distributed forms to just seven residents. Out of around 70 villas, only seven households have received them so far,” said B Akhil Reddy, facility manager of Kolla Luxuria.Residents of apartment complexes in the Financial District and Gachibowli echoed similar concerns, alleging that many flats were skipped during the distribution exercise.Some also claimed that while a few BLOs were active, others asked voters to submit the forms online instead of delivering physical copies.“I received the enumeration form, but my wife did not. When we contacted the BLO, we were told her name was not on the list given to her and were asked to submit the form online. I don’t understand how a form can be available online but not with the BLO,” said Gopi Krishna, a resident of My Home Avatar. “Around 80% of residents in our community may have received the forms, but several are still waiting.”Praveen PM from PBEL City attributed the gap to the lack of door-to-door distribution. “If forms were initially distributed from a central location, the remaining households should have been covered in subsequent visits. Around 25% of residents are yet to receive them,” he said.BLOs, however, said distribution had been affected in some cases because addresses and photographs on the forms were unclear, making it difficult to identify voters.Election officials clarified that the reported 100% distribution also includes forms marked under the ASD (absent, shifted, dead) and uncollected categories. They said efforts were underway to distribute and collect forms from all genuine voters before the deadline.According to data released by the Telangana chief electoral officer, enumeration form distribution reached 100% across the state, while nearly 66% of the forms had been digitised as of July 20.
