Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI)

Surat: Representatives of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) made a representation to the state leadership on Wednesday in Gandhinagar, asking the govt to publish govt resolution related to the Gujarat Industrial Policy-2026 that was announced recently. The representation was made to chief minister Bhupendra Patel, deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, and additional chief secretary (industries and mines), Mamta Verma. The business leaders expressed concerns over the delay in the announcement of GR. Nearly two months after the govt announced the new industrial policy on June 15, industry stakeholders have been awaiting the official GR that will formalise the policy’s final guidelines and incentive framework. In the absence of the GR, entrepreneurs and investors have reportedly delayed decisions on fresh investments and slowed the implementation timelines of multiple industrial plants, citing lack of clarity on eligible subsidies, procedural requirements, and support provisions.“The govt that the official GR for the industrial policy would be issued soon,” said SGCCI president Ashok Jirawala.
