Last year’s anointed coconut being immersed in the Arabian Sea at Khariawada, Vasco
Vasco: The annual 127th Shree Damodar Bhajani Saptah concluded on Wednesday afternoon with the immersion of last year’s anointed srifal (coconut) in the Arabian Sea at Khariawada, Vasco.Hundreds of youths in the Gopal Kala procession carried the sacred coconut in a vibrant dindi from Shree Damodar temple, moving via Swatantra Path, Vasco railway station junction, old taxi stand, the MMC building and T B Cunha chowk.Despite heavy rain, they chanted, “Gopal Kala Godd Zala”, “Hari Aala Re Haari Aala” and “Gyanba Tukaram” to taal and mrudanga beats. Devotees later received kaul as prasada.The fair continues till Aug 24.
