Dharamshala: To boost adventure tourism in Kangra district, the Himachal Pradesh govt has accelerated efforts to roll out Asia’s “largest” zip-line project at Naddi, near Dharamshala.The project, estimated to cost around Rs 7.50 crore, is set to be inaugurated by the second week of June.Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania informed that a meeting was held on Wednesday to review and expedite the completion of all necessary formalities related to the ambitious project.The project envisages a zip line stretching approximately 5.3 km across the picturesque valleys of the Dhauladhar mountain range. “Once completed, it is set to become Asia’s largest zip line, which will offer an unparalleled blend of adventure and natural beauty to tourists visiting the region,” said Pathania.Highlighting the environmental sensitivity, Pathania said the project would be sustainable, eco-friendly and no trees would be felled.Apart from boosting tourism, the project is expected to significantly enhance local employment opportunities and generate economic activity in the region. The MLA said the initiative aligned with the broader vision of developing Kangra as the tourism capital of Himachal.Pathania also informed that the work on the Dal Lake in Kangra district had commenced nearly nine months ago, and water would be filled in this lake by May.The Congress legislator further revealed plans to develop a religious circuit linking the Dal Lake, Naddi and Bal, aimed at attracting both spiritual seekers and tourists.
