Silchar: Assam Rifles and police seized 8.224 kg of morphine worth ₹13 crore and arrested a suspected peddler in Sribhumi on Monday.The seizure was made in Badarpur during a joint operation with Cachar and Sribhumi police as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking, officials said.The team also seized a car and a mobile phone. The suspect and the seized items were handed over to Sribhumi police for further investigation and legal action.Officials said the operation highlighted coordination among Assam Rifles and Cachar and Sribhumi police in dismantling inter-district drug trafficking networks.
