Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will launch Telangana Public School (TPS) at Arutla in Rangareddy district on Wednesday.A special meeting with students, teachers, and school committee members would be organized where the CM will interact with them and seek their opinion while having breakfast with the students. Later, Revanth would address a public meeting.TPS, where the medium of instruction would be English, has been developed under the supervision of Education Commission. The school offers education from nursery to Intermediate level, and also gives equal emphasis to sports, cultural activities, and personality development. Students of TPS would be provided free transportation, breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks. .Govt has selected four schools for the TPS pilot project. In the first phase, the schools chosen include Arutla and Manchala in Rangareddy district, as well as Vangur and Polkampalli in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district. It has formulated an action plan to expand the ‘Telangana Public School’ concept across the state, with a target of establishing 100 such schools in a phased manner.Currently, 1,814 students were studying at Arutla Telangana Public School. 150 students were enrolled in the pre-primary section, 600 in the primary and 800 across the two high school blocks, and 160 and 104 students in the first and second year of Intermediate, respectively.
