HYDERABAD: A 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly strangling a BSc Nursing student in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district, police said on Thursday.The incident took place on September 22.The victim 18-year-old was found dead at her house in Vangannapalem village.Police initially registered a case of suspicious death under Section 194 of the BNSS based on a complaint by her mother.The case was later converted to murder after a post-mortem examination found that the woman had been strangled with a wire. Police registered the case under Section 103(1) of the BNSS.According to the police investigation, the victim and the accused had been in a relationship for four years and planned to marry. Police said the accused allegedly killed her after she refused to marry him amid disputes between their families.The accused fled after the killing but was later traced and arrested.
