Rewari: A retired sub-inspector of the Haryana police died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Rewari, nine days after he was critically injured in a road accident.The accident took place on Aug 5 when retired SI Chandram, a resident of Jayasinghpura Khera village, was standing with his son at a bus stand. According to his son Jitendra Kumar, a speeding truck suddenly struck Chandram, leaving him seriously injured.The truck driver fled the spot immediately after the collision. With the help of passers-by, Chandram was rushed to a private hospital in Rewari, where he remained under treatment. Despite efforts by doctors, he succumbed to his injuries on the evening of Aug 14.Bawal SHO Phool Kumar said Chandram was originally from Rajasthan. He said the truck driver fled from the spot after the accident, following which police registered a case against an unidentified driver.Man dies, wife seriously injured after bike hits parked truckRewari: A man was killed and his wife seriously injured after their motorcycle rammed into a truck parked on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway near Parshwanath Society in Dharuhera on the night of Aug 14. The couple were returning home after visiting the woman’s sister’s house to deliver Teej gifts when the accident occurred.According to the police, the truck was parked on the road without proper warning indicators or reflectors. As it was dark, the motorcycle rider apparently failed to spot the stationary vehicle and crashed into it.Passers-by rushed the injured couple to a private hospital in Dharuhera. Later, their relatives took them to Rewari for treatment, where the man succumbed to his injuries. His wife sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment.
