BENGALURU: The city civil and sessions court (CCH-59) on Wednesday allowed an application filed by co-accused Pradosh S Rao seeking tender of pardon to turn approver in the Renukaswamy murder case.Arraigned as accused No. 14, Pradosh had earlier filed an 11-page petition offering to make a full and truthful disclosure regarding the murder conspiracy, disposal of evidence and the specific roles of all co-accused, including actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda.Special public prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna P Kumar contended, “Mother of the victim giving conflicting answers in her cross-examination and one witness whose statement was recorded by magistrate also has not fully supported the case of the prosecution. The evidence of approver is necessary to secure the ends of justice.”One of the prime suspects, Darshan, had earlier challenged the order before the Karnataka high court. The high court partially allowed the petition and remitted the matter back to the CCH trial court to pass a fresh order on the pardon application.Meanwhile, Darshan’s counsel told the court that Pradosh was accused of calling his wife using another prisoner’s ID. Prison officials allow inmates to call family members or advocates through specific IDs.However, Pradosh, appearing through video conference, told the court that he was unaware of the ID used.“I had called my wife using an ID provided by the prison officials. Now, prison officials are not allowing me to come out of the barrack,” Pradosh stated.
