Jaipur: Rajasthan govt has approved a two-year relaxation in the experience and service period required for promotions, amending various service rules in line with the Budget 2026-27 announcement.The decision, cleared by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, is expected to benefit govt employees awaiting promotions across departments. Employees who have already received similar relaxation through Departmental Promotion Committees in 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26 will not be eligible for the fresh concession.The govt said the move reflects its commitment to employee welfare and will help clear pending promotions.Sharma also approved the creation of 15 posts of assistant govt secretary in the Secretariat to improve administrative efficiency. The govt sanctioned 67 posts each of assistant section officer and clerk grade-I, which is expected to strengthen staffing and create additional employment opportunities.In a separate decision, the chief minister disposed of 19 pending departmental inquiry cases and ordered disciplinary action against officials found guilty of negligence and indiscipline. Annual salary increments of four serving state service officers will be withheld under the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958.In seven inquiry cases involving retired officers, approval was granted to withhold proportionate pension of eight officials.Disciplinary proceedings against an Indian Forest Service officer were closed at the written statement stage, while four officers in two separate cases were exonerated after the charges against them could not be proved.The chief minister also approved relaxations in 29 compassionate appointment cases involving dependants of deceased govt employees. These include relaxation in application deadlines, minimum age requirements and departmental changes to facilitate postings near the dependent spouse.The services of four housekeepers were terminated after a departmental inquiry found that their educational certificates and diplomas did not meet the eligibility criteria for the posts.
