PU students hold hunger strike backing Sonam Wangchuk
Students sit on 1-day hunger strike at PU Student Centre in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk

Chandigarh: Three Panjab University students observed a one-day hunger strike Saturday in support of environmentalist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk’s ongoing movement.Organised by Siddharth Choudhary, Sahil Sharma and Pranav Garg, the 24-hour fast was held as a symbolic gesture of solidarity with those participating in the indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The organisers said the protest aimed to support the constitutional and governance-related issues being raised by Wangchuk.Students, faculty members, social activists and residents visited the protest site during the day. The hunger strike concluded at midnight on Sunday, with no disruption to academic activities on the campus.
