PANCHKULA: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh will attend a public representatives’ conference at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula on November 2 as part of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha’s Constitution Fortnight celebrations.Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and all sitting and former MLAs of Haryana will also participate in the conference, which aims to strengthen constitutional values, parliamentary traditions and democratic institutions.Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Harvinder Kalyan on Thursday inspected the venue and reviewed preparations with senior government and Vidhan Sabha Secretariat officials. He directed the officers concerned to ensure seamless coordination and the smooth conduct of the programme.During his visit to the auditorium in Sector 5, Kalyan reviewed security, seating, reception and entry arrangements for distinguished guests, registration, group photographs, catering, refreshments and media management. He also inspected arrangements for the guard of honour and the conference sessions.The Speaker subsequently visited a private hotel in Sector 3 to review accommodation arrangements for guests attending the conference.Preparatory meetings were also held at the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat on Wednesday to assess arrangements for the event.Kalyan said the conference would provide an opportunity to reinforce public representatives’ commitment to the spirit of the Constitution, democratic values and parliamentary traditions. He said such initiatives were important to raise public awareness of constitutional principles and strengthen the parliamentary system.The Haryana Vidhan Sabha will launch Constitution Fortnight on November 2, with a series of programmes focusing on the Constitution, the parliamentary system and democratic traditions, in collaboration with the Lok Sabha. The conference will be a key part of the celebrations.Vidhan Sabha Secretary Dr Virendra Kumar Dahiya, Speaker’s Adviser Ram Narayan Yadav, Panchkula ADC Vivek Arya, ACP Surender Singh, and other district administration and police officers were present during the inspection.
