Mumbai: Meghwadi Police registered an FIR against a man for assaulting and threatening his estranged wife.The 29-year-old woman told police that her husband was in Saudi Arabia for work from 2023 to Jan 2026. On his return, he started to doubt her fidelity and would beat her up. Fed up, she left him and went to live with her mother and sister. She took her six-year-old son along with her.On Aug 6, she saw obscene messages on Threads app defaming her. When she quizzed her husband about it, he admitted that he had posted them and said he could post whatever he wanted.After her father’s death in Sept, her husband repeatedly threatened to harass her and drive her to suicide. On Oct 27, he stopped her autorickshaw and beat her up on the road. He warned her to not lodge a police complaint. But this time, she approached the police, following which an FIR was registered.
