Bhiwani: Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU), Bhiwani, on Tuesday felicitated Commonwealth Games 2026 bronze medallist Seema Kaliraman, recognising her remarkable achievement on the international stage and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing world-class athletes.A research scholar in the university’s department of physical education, Seema won the bronze medal in the women’s discus throw at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. The felicitation ceremony was organised by the university’s sports council.Presiding over the function, CBLU vice-chancellor Professor Deepti Dharmani honoured Seema with a shawl, memento and a cash award of Rs 1 lakh. “Seema has emerged as an outstanding athlete, scholar, daughter and mother. Her achievement reflects the values of perseverance and commitment that define true champions,” the VC said.Seema credited her success to the guidance of her coach and husband Ravinder, encouragement of her family and the consistent support of the University.“My next dream is to win gold at the Asian Games and the Olympics. Every achievement begins with discipline, dedication and hard work,” she said, urging aspiring athletes not to lose sight of their goals.CBLU registrar Prof Bhavna Sharma termed her accomplishment a defining moment for the University.In a tribute to the family behind the champion, Seema’s mother Kamla was honoured with the Veer Mata Jijabai Samman.
