Aizawl: Mizoram govt is exploring opportunities to send more youths from the state to Japan for employment as part of efforts to deepen ties with the East Asian country, an official said on Friday.Representatives of the Japan-based KTC Group, led by its director Yamazaki Tomohiro, met CM Lalduhoma at his office in Aizawl on Thursday. They discussed skill development, overseas employment opportunities for Mizo youths and possible collaboration under the state govt’s proposed Blue Mizoram Mission, an official from the CM’s office said.Lalduhoma told the delegation that around 100 youths from Mizoram were currently working in Japan.He also highlighted the ongoing initiatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Mizoram and other NE states under the cooperation framework between India and Japan.Emphasising the need to strengthen ties with Japan, Lalduhoma said the state govt had recently constituted a working committee on Japan-Mizoram Partnership in the CM’s office to explore wider areas of cooperation.The discussions also covered possible collaboration to increase fish production in Mizoram under the proposed Blue Mizoram Mission.
