Hyderabad: TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has said Congress will understand and address the concerns of its workers, expressing confidence that Medak would once again emerge as a Congress stronghold.Speaking at a party meeting on Monday, he said Congress had worked intensively during the SIR process to protect the voting rights of every eligible poor person. Alleging that attempts were being made to remove voting rights in the name of the ‘2002 condition’, he appealed to all those who had received notices to submit the required details and safeguard their votes.Mahesh Goud said party workers who had worked hard for the party would be given priority in appointments to various societies and other positions. He said senior leaders and long-standing party workers would receive more than 70% priority in appointments, including positions in market committees, societies, temples and libraries committees.Taking a dig at BJP leaders, he directly questioned Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao over the number of jobs created by the central govt. He said that instead of creating employment opportunities, the Union govt was putting existing jobs at risk.Stating that young people were increasingly questioning the lack of employment opportunities, Mahesh Goud said the “Gen Z movement” was a slap in the face for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said people were no longer willing to believe in politics based on religion and caste.Expressing confidence about Congress’ electoral prospects, he said the party would return to power under the leadership of chief minister A Revanth Reddy by winning 100 assembly seats.The TPCC chief said govt was committed to providing Indiramma houses to every genuinely eligible poor family. He also said govt was working to ensure better and accessible healthcare for the poor.Mahesh Kumar Goud accused political opponents of spreading false information through social media and took a swipe at BRS working president KT Rama Rao, saying that excessive dependence on social media propaganda could ultimately prove counter-productive.Highlighting the difference between political parties, he said Congress allowed greater freedom within the organisation. He accused BRS of having a history of removing a Dalit leader from the deputy chief minister’s post and questioned whether BJP leaders had the courage to question Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah.At the same time, Mahesh Kumar Goud issued a warning that the Congress leadership would not tolerate leaders crossing the limits of discipline. He said the party would take action against those who violated organisational norms.
