Chandigarh: Members of the Sector 22-B Trader Welfare Association Friday met Chandigarh mayor Saurabh Joshi, raising concerns over potholes and uneven road surfaces, incomplete drainage works, recurring waterlogging during rains, and a shortage of parking space due to unauthorised vending and encroachments in the market.The traders urged the civic body to address the issues ahead of the busy festival season. Mayor Joshi assured them that the concerns would be taken up on priority and instructed the departments concerned to initiate corrective measures.Emphasising the need for proper drainage and effective waterlogging prevention, the mayor said these were essential for the convenience of traders, shoppers and visitors. He directed officials to inspect the area and take necessary steps for road repairs, completion of pending drainage works, improved flood management and better parking regulation in the market.
