New Delhi: A 45-year-old man was stabbed to death and his younger cousin brother was critically injured ater a neighbourhood fued turned fatal in northwest Delhi’s Mangolpuri Monday. Three people have been arrested and a minor has been apprehended in connection with the case, while the role of more people is being probed.The deceased has been identified as Mahesh, a resident of Mangolpuri. Police said that he used to earlier work at a petrol pump and has been doing odd jobs for the past few months. The injured, 35-year-old Mukesh, police said, also worked similar jobs and lives next to the accused while Mahesh used to live a few houses away.According to police, a PCR call was received around 9.37 pm at Raj Park police station about the murder. The duo had been rushed to a nearby hospital, where Mahesh was declared brought dead.“He was found to have sustained a stab injury in the back, while Mukesh, who continues to undergo treatment, has suffered a stab injury on his left thigh,” said DCP (outer) Vikram Singh, adding that inquiry revealed that due to the old enmity, a total of four cases, two from each side, had already been registered over the past year.A senior police officer added, “The issues stemmed from petty neighbourhood issues such as bike parking and use of common space or dripping of water in each other’s houses. One of the parties has also verbally claimed that the other would stare at their female relatives, which is being verified.” While the altercations would usually happen with Mukesh and his family, Mahesh had reportedly intervened on the day of the incident to support his cousin.Four of the accused, including a minor, were identified from the neighbourhood and have been nabbed.
