Palanpur: Sabarkantha local crime branch (LCB) arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly strangling his wife to death after a quarrel rising from his suspicions about her being unfaithful in Haripura village of Idar taluka.According to police, the body of Soni Pardhi (26) was found covered with a blanket on a cot in a room on a farm in Haripura village on Tuesday. Her husband, Ramesh, was missing.The deceased’s brother lodged a complaint at Idar police station alleging that Ramesh assaulted and strangled her to death because of his suspicions about her fidelity.During the investigation, police received information that Ramesh had left Himmatnagar in an autorickshaw headed towards Desotar. A team kept watch in the area and intercepted him at Davad, police said.During interrogation, Ramesh allegedly confessed to killing his wife after a quarrel over the cooking of food on Tuesday evening. Police said he expressed doubts about her fidelity, assaulted her and then strangled her.Ramesh, a resident of Mandwal in Udaipur district, was handed over to Idar police for further investigation.
