Chandigarh: An unidentified man was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a car parked in Dadumajra village on Sunday evening. Police suspect drug overdose as the possible cause and have initiated inquest proceedings. The body has been kept at the mortuary for autopsy. Car owner Gurleen Singh of Dadumajra told the police that he had parked his vehicle outside his house on Saturday night and forgot to lock its doors. On Sunday evening, he was shocked to discover a man, believed to be in his mid-fifties, lying unconscious on the rear seat. Singh immediately informed the police at helpline number 112. A team from Maloya police station rushed to the spot and shifted the man to GMSH-16, where doctors declared him dead. Police said the deceased has not yet been identified. Area residents claimed the man was seen wandering in the area on Saturday night. SI Kulwant Singh, in-charge of Mubarakpur police post, said details of the deceased have been shared with other police stations to ascertain his identity. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report.
