Gandhinagar: On Sunday, when 1.25 crore saplings were planted across the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) set a Guinness World Record by planting 3.61 lakh saplings in just one hour using the Miyawaki method.An official statement said that, with the participation of more than 25,000 volunteers, a new chapter in urban greening was created across 76,000 sq m of land at Bhadaj in a single hour using the Miyawaki technique, the govt said on Sunday.To make the event successful, staff from all AMC departments, the municipal school board, BAPS, Credai, police personnel, NCC cadets, volunteers from NGOs, educational institutions, social organisations, besides members of the public, participated, the statement said.
