New Delhi: A couple from Maharashtra was found dead in a rented room in Sant Nagar, southeast Delhi, Monday morning. A note found in the room indicates suicide.The East of Kailash accommodation where the two were found dead was rented by the 26-year-old woman who worked in digital marketing. The man was 30 years old, police said.A PCR call went to Amar Colony police station around 9.08 am Monday regarding the couple. When police reached the spot, they found that the door of the rented room had been broken open by one of the friends and neighbours of the woman.DCP (southeast) Hemant Tiwari said the woman was found dead on her bed.Police said a suicide note, which appears to have been written by the man, was found in the room.The bodies have been moved to AIIMS for postmortem. The families of the couple have been informed.Police confirmed that the two were in a romantic relationship. An inquiry is on to ascertain the circumstances that led to their deaths.The landlord of the one-room flat, who lives elsewhere, said he had rented the room to the woman about two years ago. The man did not live there and neighbours confirmed that they did not see him regularly visiting either. In a separate incident, a man allegedly jumped into the Yamuna from the DND flyover in southeast Delhi and died.Delhi Fire Service (DFS) got a call at 6.52 am. The body was later found.
