Bengaluru: Kristu Jayanti (deemed-to-be university) secured a research grant under Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) of the education ministry, with a sanctioned funding of over Rs 1 crore. The project will be implemented from June 2026 to May 2028.SPARC is a national initiative aimed at enhancing India’s research ecosystem. The funded project, “Development of Stimuli-Responsive Theranostic Nanocomposites of Marine- and Plant-Derived Neuroprotective Agents for Parkinson’s Disease: An Integrated Approach,” is led by Shinomol George K, assistant professor, department of life sciences, school of biological and forensic sciences, as principal investigator, with Dileep Francis, dean, centre for research and development and associate professor, department of life sciences, as co-principal investigator. The project is being carried out in collaboration with Sophia University, Tokyo, Japan.
