BENGALURU: Former Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) chairman Shivashankarappa S Sahukar and KPSC member BV Geeta, who were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged recruitment scam, have been remanded to 14-day custody.The ED arrested Sahukar and Geeta on Tuesday as part of its money-laundering probe into alleged job-for-cash irregularities in KPSC recruitment.Sahukar was arrested after ED officials searched his residence in Dollars Colony, Sanjaynagar, and questioned him.Geeta was also taken into custody for questioning from her residence in the same area.The probe is linked to alleged irregularities in the recruitment of veterinary officers, including allegations of question-paper leaks, manipulation of answer sheets and merit lists, and candidates being charged money in exchange for government appointments.The ED had earlier questioned suspended IAS officer and former KPSC controller of examinations Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar and another accused, Basavaraj Kannale.Both are in judicial custody at Bengaluru Central Prison.The agency is investigating the alleged financial trail of the recruitment racket and whether proceeds were transferred or concealed through financial transactions and assets.
