Hisar: A bomb threat email claiming that the Fatehabad court complex, along with courts across Haryana and Delhi and even the Parliament would be blown up, triggered a major security alert on Friday. The threat prompted the evacuation of the court complex, deployment of additional police personnel and a thorough search by bomb disposal and dog squad teams before authorities declared the premises safe.According to police, the threatening email, purportedly sent in the name of “Khalistan,” was received on the official email account of sessions court at around 9 am. The message warned of bomb blasts at the Fatehabad court complex and several other judicial establishments, besides Parliament.Following the alert, the district police immediately cordoned off the court premises and evacuated judges, lawyers, litigants and staff as a precautionary measure. A bomb disposal squad and dog squad from Hisar were rushed to Fatehabad to conduct an intensive search of the entire complex, while police personnel were deployed at the entrance to prevent public access.Superintendent of police Nikita Khattar also visited the court complex to monitor the security arrangements and review the search operation. After an extensive search lasting more than two hours, security agencies found no suspicious object or explosive material. The court complex was subsequently declared safe and reopened, with judicial work resuming later in the afternoon.Police spokesperson ASI Vinod Kumar said the entire premises were thoroughly searched following the threat, but nothing objectionable was recovered. This is the second such incident in Fatehabad in recent months. About six months ago, the district mini secretariat had also received a bomb threat through an email sent to the deputy commissioner’s office.
