Kejriwal asks Goans to vote out BJP to ‘save vehicles’
Kejriwal claimed nearly 85-90% of Goan households would be hit by the E20 mandate

Margao: AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday launched a fresh attack on BJP over the forced rollout of E20 petrol, coining the slogan “BJP Hatao, Gaadi Bachao” and asking Goans to vote out BJP to “save your vehicles.”Kejriwal, addressing a news conference along with former Delhi CM Atishi, AAP Goa president Valmiki Naik, and others, claimed nearly 85-90% of Goan households would be hit by the E20 mandate, citing Goa’s high vehicle ownership — around 45% of families owning a car and 86% owning a two-wheeler.He alleged the Centre was pushing costlier ethanol-blended fuel under pressure from US President Donald Trump to create a market for American ethanol, claiming imports had risen from nearly one billion litres last year to an expected five billion litres this year. He said close to 30 crore pre-2023 vehicles were built only for E10 and were incompatible with E20, warning that plans for E40 and E50 blends were being pursued without adequate testing.Kejriwal said two-wheelers were seeing a 25-30% drop in mileage, alongside complaints of engine damage and fuel-system corrosion.Viegas said over 3,500 autorickshaw drivers and 500-plus motorcycle pilots in Goa were among the worst affected, as declining mileage and mechanical failures were squeezing their daily earnings.
