Karnataka to take investment roadshow to US in October, eyes bigger American investments
Karnataka Industries minister M B Patil held discussions with US Consul General Mariana L Neisuler in Bengaluru on Friday

Bengaluru: Karnataka will take its investment pitch to the United States in October as part of a roadshow aimed at attracting fresh investments, industries minister M B Patil said on Friday after meeting US Consul General (in Chennai) Mariana L Neisuler in Bengaluru.Patil said the US Consulate General would support the initiative and that the state would also invite the United States to participate in the proposed Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2027, scheduled to be held in April next year. The minister said the state government is stepping up efforts to deepen Karnataka’s economic and trade engagement with the US by creating a structured institutional mechanism involving the US Consulate General, the US Commercial Service, the American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM) and the US-India Business Council (USIBC). The platform will coordinate investor outreach, business delegations, sector-specific engagement and investment facilitation through Invest Karnataka.According to Patil, nearly 700 US companies and startups currently operate in Bengaluru and other parts of the state, underlining the state’s position as a preferred destination for American businesses. “Their presence reflects the confidence of US companies in Karnataka’s talent pool, technology ecosystem, innovation capabilities and manufacturing strengths,” he said.He said the opening of the US Consulate General in Bengaluru in January 2025 had further strengthened the growing economic relationship between Karnataka and the United States.Highlighting sectors with strong collaboration, Patil said Karnataka and the US already work closely in research and development, semiconductor equipment, aerospace, defence, healthcare, clean energy and Global Capability Centres (GCCs). He said Bengaluru’s technology ecosystem offers significant opportunities to expand partnerships in innovation, advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies. The minister also identified Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), semiconductor chip design, medical technology (MedTech) and electronics components manufacturing as key sectors with strong potential for future US investments in Karnataka.
