KALABURAGI: At least five people lost their lives after a Cruiser vehicle collided with a lorry near Ladlapur in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district on Saturday, police said. Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police A. Srinivasulu visited the accident site and carried out an inspection to understand the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials are yet to confirm the identities of the deceased, while the exact cause of the collision is still under investigation. In a separate incident reported last month in Karnataka’s Yadgiri region, seven people were killed and two children sustained injuries after a car rammed into a bus, police said. The victims in the car were all members of the same family and residents of Sirwar Taluk in Raichur district. Yadgiri SP Pruthvik Shankar said the accident took place within the limits of Surpur Police Station. An eyewitness account suggested that the car, while overtaking a tractor, collided head-on with the bus. “We have taken the complaint from the victim’s family side, and we are investigating the case,” SP Shankar said.
