Bengaluru: A video-call clip allegedly involving a woman police inspector of the Karnataka State Industrial Security Force (KSISF) and a friend who was lodged at Central Prison, Hindalga, has gone viral on social media, prompting her to file a complaint with Cubbon Park police.Following the incident, the inspector filed a complaint against rowdy-sheeter Sai Kumar and others. Police have received her complaint and are seeking legal advice before taking further action. In her complaint, she alleged that her rowdy friend, another rowdy-sheeter and others leaked the video on social media platforms.According to a senior police officer, the inspector, who is currently deployed as a security officer at a metro station, has gone on leave after filing the complaint. “We will approach her for further details regarding the complaint,” the officer said.The video was allegedly recorded in 2024. Rowdy-sheeter Sai Kumar, the inspector’s friend, is from Kunigal in Tumakuru. At the time, the inspector was posted at Central Prison, Hindalga, where Kumar was lodged. She allegedly got in touch with him while he was in prison and engaged in explicit video calls with him. Kumar allegedly recorded the call and recently leaked the video, police said.Sai Kumar had earlier complained against the inspector, accusing her of providing him with phones, liquor and other luxuries inside the prison in exchange for bribes. The same mobile phone was allegedly used to make the video calls. He also alleged that those who exposed irregularities in the prison were threatened with being booked in false cases. A departmental inquiry is underway against the inspector based on his complaint.Meanwhile, the video was shared from an Instagram account along with allegations of corruption against prison officials, including claims of running prostitution and providing contraband. Following the post, prison officials filed a complaint at the Belagavi CEN police station Thursday. An FIR has been registered and an investigation is under way.
