Chandigarh: Joint municipal commissioner Balbir Raj Friday inspected various gaushalas under the municipal corporation Chandigarh to assess animal welfare, sanitation and maintenance of facilities.During the visit, he reviewed the availability of fodder and drinking water, cleanliness of sheds, waste management practices, and overall arrangements for the well-being of cattle. Stress was laid on maintaining hygienic conditions and ensuring proper care of the animals.Balbir Raj directed officials to uphold high standards of cleanliness and strengthen monitoring mechanisms for better upkeep. He emphasised timely sanitation, regular health checks for cattle, and efficient resource management to ensure a safe and healthy environment.The municipal corporation reiterated its commitment to animal welfare and said regular inspections and monitoring will continue to ensure proper functioning of gaushalas and well-being of cattle.
