Noida: Police arrested three men on Wednesday in connection with a firing incident on GT Road earlier this week and seized a large cache of illegal firearms and ammunition. Angered by constant honking, the accused told cops they had opened fire at another car to scare them off.According to ADCP (central Noida) Swatantra Kumar Singh, police received information on Monday via Dial 112 that several men in a Toyota Glanza car opened fire at another car on GT Road while travelling from Bulandshahr towards Dadri.A case was registered at Badalpur police station and multiple teams were formed. On Wednesday, acting on confidential inputs and manual intelligence, police arrested Rahul (34), Neetu alias Kuldeep (38) and Manoj alias Guddu (36). They also seized two pistols, four country-made firearms, 32 live cartridges, 127 spent cartridges, two firearm barrels and the Toyota Glanza car allegedly used in the crime. Two other accomplices managed to flee and efforts are underway to apprehend them, police added.Rahul told cops that he had borrowed the car from his neighbour’s uncle. On Monday, the group was driving towards Delhi when another car began constantly honking at them. Angered, they fired two rounds with the intention of intimidating the other driver before fleeing the scene. They also admitted to carrying weapons and ammunition in public, cops said.An FIR has been registered under BNS sections 3(5) (common intentions), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 109 (attempt to murder) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and sections 3, 25, 27 of the Arms Act.Police also said that Neetu has a criminal history and was previously named in several serious cases, including attempted murder, murder, extortion, rioting and violations under the Arms Act and Gangsters Act. Investigation is underway and cops are tracing the absconding accused.
