Jaipur: Rajasthan High Court has quashed a second transfer order issued on the same day to a Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd assistant engineer and directed that he continue at his present posting in Tonk.Justice Ganesh Ram Meena passed the order Wednesday while allowing a writ petition filed by Vikram Singh Lodhi, an assistant engineer (RDSS) and a resident of Tonk.Counsel for the petitioner, Lakshmi Kant Sharma, submitted that JVVNL transferred Lodhi from Deoli to Tonk through an order dated July 10, 2026. “In compliance, he joined his new posting at Tonk on July 11. However, the department subsequently issued another transfer order bearing the same date (July 10), transferring him from Tonk to Pirawa in Jhalawar district. Thus, we challenged this second order before the High Court,” Sharma said.JVVNL defended the transfer, submitting that Lodhi had been posted in Tonk district since 2010 and that the transfer to Pirawa was made on administrative grounds.“The second transfer order had been issued with mala fide intentsince Lodhi’s father is a former MLA from Niwai and no other officer had been posted in his place under the second transfer order, indicating that the transfer lacked any genuine administrative necessity,” Sharma contended.After hearing both sides, the single bench found merit in the petition and set aside the impugned transfer order. The court directed JVVNL to allow Lodhi to continue at his present posting in Tonk.
