Dibrugarh: Assam governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya surveyed flood-ravaged Upper Assam on Thursday and assured displaced families of comprehensive support.He conducted an aerial survey of Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat before landing at Sivasagar’s Boarding Field for a ground assessment.Accompanied by cabinet ministers Keshab Mahanta and Bimal Borah, he visited relief camps at Lakhimi Nagar Middle English School and Sivasagar High School. He distributed relief materials, interacted with displaced families and children, and assessed health care needs with doctors and medical workers.Earlier, he reviewed relief and rescue operations with Borah, additional chief secretary LS Changsan, DC Mridul Yadav and SSP Papori Chetia.“I have closely observed the entire flood situation during my visit today. In keeping with the instructions of the PM and the home minister, I will submit a detailed report to them on the condition of the flood-affected areas. Their concern and support remain firmly with all of us at this time …,” Acharya said.“To my brothers and sisters affected by the floods, I want to say that we stand together with you in this hour of crisis. I am glad to share that electricity has already been restored in over 90 affected areas, and livestock have been moved to safe shelters. We will ensure that every student in the flood-affected areas receives the support they need, including books, pens and other essential materials. I urge all affected families not to worry. We are with them, and every possible assistance will be extended without delay,” the governor added.
