Kolkata: Calcutta HC on Friday extended the interim protection granted to Trinamool general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in the alleged MLA signature forgery case till July 17.A special bench of Justice Suvra Ghosh heard the forgery case and noted that Justice Kaushik Chanda had heard the matter in detail earlier.As Justice Chanda is currently sitting on the circuit bench, the interim protection was extended till July 17.Justice Chanda is scheduled to resume hearing the matter on July 14.In the separate case concerning the CID’s bid to collect Banerjee’s voice sample in connection with the alleged “DJ remark”, Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya declined to grant an urgent hearing.
